What is the first thought that comes to mind when you hear the word “love?”
In a world where the word is so often used, yet most of the time, with no real meaning, having no understanding, there is no depth nor ground to stand on. I’ve been told so many times that “Love never fails” and as I walked this journey called “life”, I often wondered how they came up with this concept. It’s been said, the older you get, the wiser you get, yet, when it came to the subject of love and it never failing, I sure wasn’t getting any wiser. It seemed like the older I got, the less love seemed to appeal to me, with many disappointments, despite my attempts to see it win a battle over the wounds inflicted from the past. It wasn’t until some critical life changing events in my life that I begin to learn the true meaning of love. I had an encounter with not only a love that never fails, but love HIMSELF! Being saved for many years, what I knew love to be turned out to be conditional and about satisfying me, not others. In this encounter, I learned to walk out a love that was about the other person, yet was so amazing, it made me free in the process, causing me to love my enemies, the ones in which I was hurt deeply. It gave me a new outlook on others, and through it all, I now have an understanding along with an intimate relationship with God, much more than just knowing about him, and knowing that God is love, now I know that he doesn’t just possess love, he IS love! The very essence and heart of God! I have truly experienced the HEART OF GOD!
So, as this world becomes more evil and wickedness seems to lurk for those who are weak, weary, and wounded; I pray this book brings healing and deliverance to the broken-hearted, those who are bound and in captivity be made free as you walk your own experience “Through the Eyes of Love.”
